Exhaust & Emissions System Repair
Loud exhaust, a rattle underneath, fumes in the cab or a DPF warning on your diesel. We fix leaks and emissions faults without replacing more than needed.
A healthy exhaust system keeps fumes out of the cabin, keeps the engine running efficiently and keeps things quiet. On modern diesels, the exhaust system is also a complex emissions system that needs to work correctly for the truck to run right.
Signs of exhaust problems
- Louder exhaust, or a ticking noise on cold start (manifold leak)
- Rattling from under the vehicle (loose heat shield or failed hanger)
- Exhaust smell inside the cab. Take this one seriously: carbon monoxide is dangerous
- Check engine light for catalytic converter or oxygen sensor codes
- Hanging or dragging pipes
What we do on gas vehicles
- Exhaust leak diagnosis and repair
- Exhaust manifold and manifold gasket repair, including broken studs
- Pipe, muffler and resonator replacement
- Hangers, clamps and heat shields
- Oxygen sensor and catalytic converter diagnosis and replacement
Diesel emissions systems
Late-model diesels use several systems to meet emissions rules, and each one can cause warning lights, power loss or reduced-speed modes when it acts up:
- EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valves and coolers
- DPF (diesel particulate filter) and its pressure and temperature sensors, plus regeneration problems
- DEF / SCR systems: DEF pumps, heaters, injectors and quality sensors
- NOx sensors and exhaust gas temperature sensors
- Up-pipes and turbo-to-exhaust connections, including 6.4L Power Stroke up-pipe leaks
We diagnose these systems properly, repair the failed components and get your truck running right and compliant. Short trips and lots of idling are hard on DPFs; we can also talk about driving habits that help regeneration complete. More on diesel repair.
Very professional always explains what's going on with ur service, Does not try to rush you in and out to get to the next job. Or tell you there's nothing wrong with your truck, My truck had issues, He was able to diagnose and figure out what's wrong with it? Without them telling me there's nothing wrong and nothing he can do. Would highly. Recommend him for anyone needing service done.
Exhaust FAQ
Why does my diesel keep regenerating?
Frequent regenerations can be caused by short trips, a faulty DPF pressure sensor, EGR problems or injectors adding too much soot. We diagnose the cause rather than just forcing a regen.
