Trailer Repair & Maintenance
Brakes, bearings, wiring, lights and tires for utility, equipment, livestock and camper trailers, so your trailer is as ready as your truck.
Trailers are easy to forget about until something goes wrong on the highway. A seized bearing, dead brakes or lights that don't work can turn a routine haul into a dangerous and expensive day. A little maintenance goes a long way.
Signs your trailer needs work
- Lights that don't work, flicker or work backwards
- Trailer brakes that grab, pull, don't engage or show an error on your controller
- A hub that's hot to the touch after a drive, or grease slung on the wheel
- Growling, squealing or wobble from a wheel
- Uneven tire wear, cracked sidewalls or old tires
- Sagging springs or worn shackles and bushings
What we do
- Electric brakes: magnets, shoes, adjustment, wiring and breakaway systems
- Wheel bearings: repack or replace bearings and seals
- Wiring and lights: 4-pin and 7-pin plugs, lights, grounds and junction boxes (see lights and trailer wiring)
- Tires: trailer-rated tires, mounting and balancing (see tire services)
- Suspension: leaf springs, shackles, equalizers and bushings
- Tow vehicle side: brake controller, hitch wiring and the truck's own brakes
Before towing season
If your camper or boat trailer has been sitting all winter, have the bearings, brakes, tires and lights checked before the first trip. Tires on trailers that sit often age out long before the tread wears. Call (816) 269-4402 to check that your trailer's size will work for our shop before you haul it over.
This has been the only shop I have taken my truck too. All the work has been quality. They have also been done all the work for my trailers.
