Tune-Ups & Scheduled Maintenance
Spark plugs, filters, fluids and belts, done on a sensible schedule so your vehicle keeps running smooth and doesn't surprise you.
"Tune-up" used to mean points, plugs and a carburetor adjustment. On today's vehicles it means replacing the wear items your manufacturer calls for and making sure the engine is running the way it should. Staying on top of it is cheaper than dealing with what happens when you don't.
Signs you're due
- Rough idle, hesitation or a misfire
- Dropping fuel mileage
- Harder starting than usual
- Check engine light for a misfire
- You've reached the mileage interval in your owner's manual (often 60,000 to 100,000 miles for spark plugs on modern engines)
What a tune-up can include
- Spark plugs, and ignition coils or wires as needed
- Engine air filter and cabin air filter
- Fuel filter where serviceable
- Throttle body cleaning
- PCV valve
- Serpentine belt and tensioner checks
- Fluid checks and scheduled fluid services: coolant, transmission, brake and differential
- A scan for stored codes and a look at fuel trims and misfire data
We follow your manufacturer's schedule and your driving habits. We won't sell you a "tune-up package" full of things your vehicle doesn't need.
Diesel maintenance
Diesels don't have spark plugs, but they have their own maintenance list: fuel filters and water separators, air filters, coolant condition, glow plugs or grid heaters, and keeping the emissions system healthy. If your diesel is running rough, smoking or down on power, see diesel repair for how we diagnose drivability problems.
Drew took care of my parent's vehicle. The experience was awesome from start to finish. I really appreciated all the communication along the way as well as his willingness to take care of them so quickly. I couldn't be more grateful for the fast, friendly, and honest service. There was no upselling... just what they needed. More importantly, he fixed it in one visit! Love this shop!
